Weekend Lowdown 24th – 26th Jan 2024
After yet another monumentally busy iRacing Daytona 24 Hour race last weekend dominating proceedings, things are a little bit more relaxed as we welcome you to the second edition of the RaceSpot Weekend Lowdown, looking at everything taking place on RaceSpot TV this weekend. Over time we will be adding content from other broadcasters and series, so if you would like to be included please email me at vt.topsecar@liW.

Friday 26th January
Just the one event tonight, and it’s going to be a fun one. The IMSA iRacing Sportscar Championship heads to the Green Hell at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. iRacing partners with the International Motor Sports Association in a mixed class series featuring GTP, LMP2 and GTD cars. Yes, that means that there’s going to be a ton of prototypes going around the OG Carousel, and the other 130+ corners that make up this historic racetrack.
There will be no live page for this week unfortunately. But make sure you check out the broadcast!
Saturday 27th January
We’ve actually got a Saturday off! We will however be bringing you a couple of articles that we really should have written earlier this week, including:
- A look at iRacing’s upcoming rain and weather prediction features
- A ‘wishlist’ for the 2025 iRacing Daytona 24 Hour Race
- What possibilities exist for the IndyCar iRacing partnership, and which should come first.
Sunday 28th January
We have Rounds 3 & 4 of the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB. This brings the excitement of the track to the excitement of the simulation racing world. The 26 fastest qualifiers make the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB field on virtual race day with their Porsche ‘(Type 992)’ 911 GT3 Cup cars. Live streamed on Twitch, the 16-round championship runs across eight Sundays, visiting the most historic and iconic British motor racing circuits virtually. Be sure to check out Porsche’s Twitch page to watch the race.
Your Sunday Night Nightcap is the PRL NASCAR Cup Series, which heads to Round 4 at Auto Club Speedway. One of a number of series that are run by PRL and broadcast on RaceSpot TV, this event sees drivers head to California to the two mile 14 degree banked oval which is always one of the most exciting races of any NASCAR calendar.
