The events of 22nd March 2016 have caused at least 30 deaths, with over 100 more injuries. It has also left a nation grieving, and the outpouring of emotion from around the world. BENLUX is a well loved club in the iRacing community, and most importantly we hope that all members, their families and friends are safe and well at this time.
Motorsports has always brought communities from around the world together. We all identify in different ways, but we are all race fans. In recognition of this, tomorrow night, we will be hosting a 45 minute race at Spa Francorchamps, in the GT1 car, open to all members of the iRacing community, under the banner of #iRaceWithBelgium.
We will run the event as a tournament, to allow as many interested drivers as possible to enter. Each will comprise of a practice and qualifying session, after which time the times will be ranked, and grids split into fields of 50 drivers. A second session will comprise of the warm up and race. The tentative schedule for this is as follows.
Practice: 6PM GMT
Qualifying: 6:45PM GMT
Race Warm Up: 7:10PM GMT
Race: 7:30PM GMT
Realistic weather will be used for the event throughout.
